Why does LDD charge for some additional services?

LDD’s goal has always been to provide software applications with reasonable pricing. We were pioneers in the concept of charging for files after the closing date in a disbursable manner with no setup or licensing fees. This means the law firm is not ‘out of pocket’ for the use of our system. As we’ve expanded our capabilities, we made the decision to maintain our low transaction fees (the lowest across Canada) and provide optional additional services on a pay as required approach. 

This is an unprecedented situation. You, and hundreds of others, can feel forced into switching software. That’s not easy on you. As a private, locally owned and operated company, we empathize with your predicament. To help in the transition, we remain committed to keeping your transaction fees as low as possible. 

These fees cover the operation and maintenance of the cloud based system. This includes infrastructure costs of computer servers, enterprise level security, co-location facilities, regular backups and storage of your RealtiWeb transaction data.  Transaction fees also cover the human resources costs of setting up your account, programming your letterhead, complimentary training, no-cost customer support and ongoing maintenance of the content and programming of our applications.

Some of our additional services, such as the importing of databases or document customization, require resources to complete and will incur modest one-time only fees. In fact, these one-time fees are below what a former provider is charging for a single real estate file.
