New Federal Statutory Holiday: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Under the Canada Labour Code, September 30 has been declared as a general holiday, and applies to federally regulated employers, including banks. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be observed to honour First Nations, Inuit and Métis survivors and their families and communities, and ensure the public commemoration of their history and the legacy of residential schools.

Many banks have been confirming with their customers that they will be closed on September 30, 2021.

Review your closing list now to address any transactions scheduled on September 30 to avoid making last minute arrangements.
